Pondering the Bible: How to deal with anger

"Human anger does not produce the righteousness God desires." James 1:20 NLT http://bible.com/116/jas.1.20.nlt Let’s admit it, we all deal with anger sometimes. But some more than most. When we do get angry, we get this overwhelming sense of bitterness and malice that is sometimes uncontrollable. This brings us to today’s question: How do you deal with anger?  Well, satan will always keep on trying to do things to make you angry. And as soon as you give in and never let it go, you have failed and satan can hold you back.  Here’s how to deal with it:  The Bible says that when you are angry you should not let it carry over to the next morning.  "And "don’t sin by letting anger control you." Don’t let the sun go down while you are still angry," Ephesians 4:26 NLT http://bible.com/116/eph.4.26.nlt This means you may only be angry for some time. But I wouldn’t for long:  "Understand this, my dear brothers and sisters: You must all be
28 And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are the called according to His purpose. (‭Romans‬ ‭8‬:‭28‬ NKJV)
25 Therefore He is also able to save to the uttermost those who come to God through Him, since He always lives to make intercession for them. (‭Hebrews‬ ‭7‬:‭25‬ NKJV)

Let’s Talk: Psalm 130:5

“The thief does not come except to steal, and to kill, and to destroy. I have come that they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly.” ‭‭John‬ ‭10:10‬ ‭NKJV‬‬ http://bible.com/114/jhn.10.10.nkjv

Pondering the Bible: How can I have joy through everything?

"And not only that, but we also glory in tribulations, knowing that tribulation produces perseverance; and perseverance, character; and character, hope. Now hope does not disappoint, because the love of God has been poured out in our hearts by the Holy Spirit who was given to us." Romans 5:3-5 NKJV http://bible.com/114/rom.5.3-5.nkjv QUESTION:  How can I have joy through everything?  First, let’s get rid of I. Because you can’t. Just naturally, you cannot be joyful through everything. Why? Because of flesh. Your human nature. Unless it is dead, you cannot walk with God. Your human nature contains things like lying, stealing, jealously and sadness. So, first we need to destroy flesh. Stop following your human nature and make sure you don’t return. How? By accepting Jesus as Lord and Saviour. After you have got rid of I, you need to acknowledge that the Holy Spirit is your helper. He is the One who can give you joy, joy through everything. Jesus told us He would have
“But Jesus looked at them and said to them, “With men this is impossible, but with God all things are possible.”” ‭‭Matthew‬ ‭19:26‬ ‭NKJV‬‬ http://bible.com/114/mat.19.26.nkjv

“In God (I will praise His word), In God I have put my trust; I will not fear. What can flesh do to me?” ‭‭Psalms‬ ‭56:4‬ ‭NKJV‬‬ http://bible.com/114/psa.56.4.nkjv

Let’s Talk: James 2:13

Pondering the Bible - What should my thoughts be like?

An Intro to Pondering the Bible  We decided to start this new series, ‘Pondering the Bible’ so that we could answer all your questions about the Bible. Each post there is a different question, which we answer. Now, let’s move on!  ——————————————————————————————————————— Today’s Question: What should my thoughts be like?  Paul says in Colossians 3:1 to seek things which are above, which basically means to think and focus on heavenly things. “If then you were raised with Christ, seek those things which are above, where Christ is, sitting at the right hand of God.” Colossians 3:1 NKJV http://bible.com/114/col.3.1.nkjv But the main question is, how do I do that? Well, first we need to forget about we. We just need to focus on God. We first need to submit to God, and just fix our hearts on Him. The best way to do this is through His Word, the Bible and through listening to His Word through men of God. This is the best way we can keep our thoughts focused and kept on God.
