Discovering Truth - Verse of the Day

1 Timothy 4:7 -  7  Have nothing to do with godless myths and old wives’ tales;  rather, train yourself to be godly.  The godliness Paul is talking about here means piety to God, a revered holiness. What do I mean? Well, on what we do we should have a holiness for him. Our clothing, people should be able to say 'this is a real Christian'. Our behaviour should also have a holiness. A fear of God. As the Bible says, the fear of God gives life. This holiness is about the things you do, how you respond to God and to the things of God. Our character influences the way we live and what we do-it's the way people determine who you are, for it is always the inner man the speaks out. They are books and magazines you shouldn't read, things you shouldn't watch and games you shouldn't play. The excuse 'it's Christian' won't work this time! Watch with your children - make sure you are sure of what they watch. Never forget who you are in Christ: His own, o

"He must become greater; I must become less." - John 3:30 NIV  This is what we should be saying to God. That He should become greater and we must become less. Get rid of your pride and become humble, like Jesus. Be gentle and humble not only physically but IN HEART. A walk with God comes from your heart. True Christianity comes from your heart and not your head. HUMILITY! 

So flee youthful passions and pursue righteousness, faith, love, and peace, along with those who call on the Lord from a pure heart - 2 Timothy 2:22 ESV Today I wanted to talk about purification. We must 'fire' or purify ourselves with God's Word. We must read it with revelation, by reading on it and thinking about it. Meditate means to think upon. Meditate on God's Word! A good way to keep notes about Scriptures is to get a small journal (I would recommend A5) where you can write down your revelations from God's Word and/or dreams and visions.

Q&A: What is God’s way? Lately, I’ve been reading Psalm 103 and I came across this verse: “He made known His ways to Moses, His acts to the children of Israel.” ( verse 7 ) God’s way is His Will. And He can tell us His Will through His Word. We obey His Will and become wise by reading and obeying His Word. And if God’s way is His Word, this means that God’s way is Himself. How do I know? “Before the world began, there was the Word. The Word was with God, and the Word was God .” ( John 1:1 ) Did you see? God’s way is himself, which means if we want to go His way, we follow HIM. God’s way is himself. And as soon as we know Him, we can walk in His glory and enjoy this life that Jesus Christ has given us. Now, let me point out knowing ABOUT God is different than knowing Him. As Christians, we should know God as children know their father. How do we know Him inside out? By knowing His Word’s. And we know His Word’s by revelation and NOT by

“A double minded man is unstable in all his ways.” ‭‭James‬ ‭1:8‬ ‭KJV‬‬ http://bible.com/1/jas.1.8.kjv Sometimes we are very double minded. We are always DEBATING two facts, otherwise known as having doubts. We want to follow God and money - which Jesus says we can't. Double minded people are unstable - don't be one of them! 

1 For freedom Christ has set us free. Stand firm, then, and do not be subject again to the yoke of slavery. (‭Galatians‬ ‭5‬:‭1‬ NET) Be no more tied up! 

“The one who believes in the Son has eternal life. The one who rejects the Son will not see life, but God’s wrath remains on him.” ‭‭John‬ ‭3:36‬ ‭NET‬‬ http://bible.com/107/jhn.3.36.net Gosh! This proves that everlasting life can only be given by God and Him alone. Religion CANNOT do this. Religion is the foothold of Satan for his lies and deception. The Bible says in John 8:32 that the truth will set is free. Free from what? The evil powers of darkness and the devil's lies. This truth is GOD'S TRUTH! And where do you find God'a truth? In His Word. Now you might be wondering, isn't Christianity a religion? No. A million times no. The things religion say has no reality but is just empty breath. Reality is what backs up Christianity which shows that God is real. The people that are under this stronghold of Satan (religion) is what he is using to lead souls away from the Truth. Believe the Truth and it will set you free!

“So then, do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Today has enough trouble of its own.” ‭‭Matthew‬ ‭6:34‬ ‭NET‬‬ http://bible.com/107/mat.6.34.net This verse especially impacted me today. When we worry, reading Scripture and praying can really help. John 14 or 2 Timothy 1:7 would be good places to start from.  Jesus talked about the trouble and tribulation in this world. Different situations will come to you everyday - the way you respond to the situation is what makes your day. The trouble for today is already enough - don't go adding more by worrying! 

“The Lord will deliver me from every evil deed and will bring me safely into his heavenly kingdom. To him be glory for ever and ever! Amen.” ‭‭2 Timothy‬ ‭4:18‬ ‭NET‬‬ http://bible.com/107/2ti.4.18.net Before God can deliver us, we must be willing to be saved and make an effort. If we are going to be slack and just say 'I have no role to play' you might as well forget about God. To be delivered you must make an effort and BE WILLING. God doesn't force us to do things. What might be this 'effort'? * Praying and fasting * Reading God's Word intensively. If we want to have what we want from God, we've got to make an effort!

“The way of a fool is right in his own opinion, but the one who listens to advice is wise.” ‭‭Proverbs‬ ‭12:15‬ ‭NET‬‬ http://bible.com/107/pro.12.15.net Hold on. This verse talks about listening to advice but- whose advice should we listen to? Godly advice. And the best place we can get godly advice is from God himself, through His Word. Don't understand a verse? Don't let the question linger in your head and shake your faith! Ask a pastor full of the Holy Ghost, or pray for guidance. When we obey God's advice, we are being wise. But proud people think their way is correct, but it will finally lead them to destruction (Proverbs 16:18). 

30 The one true God acts in a faithful manner; the LORD’s promise is reliable; he is a shield to all who take shelter in him. (‭Psalms‬ ‭18‬:‭30‬ NET)  God's Word is true and powerful, when used correctly. Let me explain. For example, there is a film. You are able to write a review about it. The review can either support the film or oppose it. Same with the Word of God. You can use it the right way or wrong way. The right way is:  -Using it to teach others  -Reading it daily to glorify to God.  The wrong way:  -Using it to support demonic views.  God's Word has power! 

Do not repay evil with evil or insult with insult. On the contrary, repay evil with blessing, because to this you were called so that you may inherit a blessing. 1 Peter 3:9 | NIV It is man's natural nature to repay and get revenge. After all, an eye for an eye? In Matthew chapter 9, Jesus states that it is not sacrifice but mercy He desires. Satan will send many people to anger you and cause trouble with you- but as long as God is in You, and You read His Word and obey Colossians 3:13, there should always be forgiveness and patience in your heart. Sometimes God allows these things to happen to see if we'll pass the test, see if we really love Him as we say we do.  The Word of God is not just the black leather book you read. It is the book of salvation and of light, the way that God talks to you. This Bible is more valuable than you can think or imagine. 

But go and learn what this means: ‘I desire mercy, not sacrifice. - Matthew 9:13

“For where envying and strife is, there is confusion and every evil work.” ‭‭James‬ ‭3:16‬ ‭KJV‬‬ http://bible.com/1/jas.3.16.kjv Follow this verse and don't let God's judgement fall on you because you were envious! 

The grace of the Lord Jesus be with God’s people. Amen - Revelation 22:21 It is only by God's grace that we live. That we have the pleasure to do what we want and desire. It is by grace that God has mercy on us. It is by grace that He protects us and that he redeemed us. It is by grace that we have no become his sons. Everything in your life that is good is by grace from God. God doesn't force people to follow Him- he could. He doesn't kill those who don't believe in Him- he could. He is the Supreme God and our Father!  We should know Him, like children know their Father. How? Read the Word, meditate on it and grab those revelations! 

8 I have set the Lord always before me: because he is at my right hand, I shall not be moved. (‭Psalms‬ ‭16‬:‭8‬ KJV) In this verse, David is actually having a revelation about Jesus from the Holy Ghost. Let me explain. You see- as Christians, Jesus is the one who is before us. The One we follow. He is at our right hand and protects us. And because of Him, we are not moved. The Lord is you Leader, Provider and Guide. Without him, your steps would be without guide and you would have no knowledge of the path you are taking. You would be vulnerable to Satan and he will be able to destroy you. But-thank God- he can't destroy us. Christ lives in us, the most powerful Thing ever!

“Taste and see that the LORD is good. Blessed is the person who takes refuge in him.” ‭‭Psalms‬ ‭34:8‬ ‭GW‬‬ http://bible.com/70/psa.34.8.gw Sometimes we don't see that the Lord is good. But Paul says in 2 Timothy 3:12: “Now in fact all who want to live godly lives in Christ Jesus will be persecuted.” ‭‭2 Timothy‬ ‭3:12‬ ‭NET‬‬ http://bible.com/107/2ti.3.12.net So, living godly lives won't be easy. But have you ever thought about it? Why do we get persecuted? Well, who is Jesus? God. And does God live in us? Yes. So, if it is God walking in us and using us, we are going to get persecuted! Because Jesus did! Don't be surprised! 

4 Trust the LORD always, because the LORD, the LORD alone, is an everlasting rock. (‭Isaiah‬ ‭26‬:‭4‬ GW) Trust the Lord always, no matter what you're facing!

“And the Lord direct your hearts into the love of God, and into the patient waiting for Christ.” ‭‭2 Thessalonians‬ ‭3:5‬ ‭KJV‬‬ http://bible.com/1/2th.3.5.kjv What directs our love for God? The Lord. We can only truly love Jesus Christ with God. Who is the Holy Ghost. The Lord MUST be the propeller for our love. Loving God with the human nature is IMPOSSIBLE. Don't say 'I've tried' ! You can't try! You can't do it no matter how hard you try! You need the Holy Ghost. Trying doesn't make things change, only the Holy Spirit does.

But I, with shouts of grateful praise, will sacrifice to you. What I have vowed I will make good. I will say, ‘Salvation comes from the Lord.’ - Jonah 2:9 Where does salvation come from? That's right, the Lord. He is our Saviour. Don't doubt Him-once you start doubting Him, you make your faith crumble and your love for Him start to break. If we don't obey God, we don't  love Him. Simple as! There is no bending! (Confused? Read 2 John 1:6) Obeying God's commands is very important in a Christian's life. Disobedience to them is just awful and sinful. He hates it-you'll regret it and that pain and guilt will be there, forever. It's better safe than sorry. Obey God and don't let your love or faith break!

Cast but a glance at riches, and they are gone, for they will surely sprout wings and fly off to the sky like an eagle. – Proverbs 23:5 NIV This verse is God warning us to be content with what we have and not wish for more. Riches are nothing compared to our life in Christ. Riches are temporary, fame is temporary, everything in this world is temporary. It is the spiritual that controls the physical. Jesus says in Luke 12:15 to be aware of all types of greed and selfishness. BE AWARE OF ALL GREED!

Therefore I tell you, whatever you ask for in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours. - Mark 11:24 NIV Believing is one of the main keys to gaining our inheritance in Christ. Scriptural and commanding prayer is when we really push away those mountains and control the armies of hell! The Bible says: "Everything I have is Yours, and everything You have is Mine, and I have been glorified in them." - John 17:10. What does this mean? Let's hold up: what does Jesus own? Everything. And if everything He has is ours, that includes Satan! That includes all his evil schemes! We can control him, if we know our power. If we don't, Satan will take that advantage and control YOU!

12 Rejoicing in hope; patient in tribulation; continuing instant in prayer; (‭Romans‬ ‭12‬:‭12‬ KJV) Rejoice in hope and patient in tribulation! 

10 Now I beseech you, brethren, by the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that ye all speak the same thing, and that there be no divisions among you; but that ye be perfectly joined together in the same mind and in the same judgment. (‭1 Corinthians‬ ‭1‬:‭10‬ KJV) God wants us to be unified as the body of Christ. Not conspiring against one another like people of the world do- but imitating God and doing His Will. We shouldn't let misunderstandings and arguments separate us from one another! We may not always get along, but as long as we remember Colossians 3:13 and let God's Holy Spirit guide us, we shall always have forgiveness in our hearts and be unified in spirit.
