Don't pierce yourself with Mammon

For the love of money is a root of all kinds of evil. Some people, eager for money, have wandered from the faith and pierced themselves with many griefs - 1 Timothy 6:10
Another warning of many about money. You see, love for money and God don't go together. It is either you serve one or the other. When you 'pierce yourself', it means you suffer great consequences for your greed. The Bible talks about having contentment instead of greed in Hebrews 13:5 because it is really God you need. He is the creator and gives everything - what do you lack (Psalm 23:1)?
