Understanding the Word of God

“In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.”

What I wanted to talk about today was understanding God's Word. Many people do not understand God's Word and therefore preach it wrong! Let me give you this example: 

If a book is written in Greek, will you not need to know Greek to read it? It is the same with God's Word! As He is a Spirit, you need to be spiritual to understand His Word. Being spiritual means to be prayerful, have the Holy Spirit as your guide when you read His Word. Read God's Word spiritually!

Acting on God's Word....

"Do not merely listen to the Word and deceive yourselves. practice it and do what it says." - James 1:22 Today I wanted to talk to you about the Bible's power. Many atheists and other non-Christians believe that the Bible is not true, but THEY haven't meditated on the Word that they heard from Church, study etc. Let's take a look at what Jesus said: " They are like a man building a house, who dug down deep and laid the foundation on rock. When a flood came, the torrent struck that house but could not shake it, because it was well built.   49  But the one who hears my words and does not put them into practice is like a man who built a house on the ground without a foundation. Pondering the Bible: How to deal with anger

When we do get angry, we get this overwhelming sense of bitterness and malice that is sometimes uncontrollable. This brings us to today’s question: How do you deal with anger?  Well, satan will always keep on trying to do things to make you angry. And as soon as you give in and never let it go, you have failed and satan can hold you back.  Here’s how to deal with it:  The Bible says that when you are angry you should not let it carry over to the next morning.  "And "don’t sin by letting anger control you."
