All but Grace!

"For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves;  it is  the gift of God,  not of works, lest anyone should boast.   For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand that we should walk in them." - Ephesians 2:8-10 Many of us today don't realise that we are not saved by our works, but by the grace of God. It was the gift of God for us to be saved. Our works could have never done that for us, as we were of a sinful nature. Jesus came, and He didn't have to, to save us. It was of His love, compassion and His grace. We need to get serious with God, and start following Him. But not of our own power or works, but by the Spirit of God and by His grace. His grace is not something we should boast about. But it doesn't stop with just being saved, we need to continue in the path of righteousness. Guys, this is why we need to fully commit our lives to God. To continue in our salvation, we need
FRIDAY’s VERSE: “They prove the truth of this proverb: “A dog returns to its vomit.” And another says, “A washed pig returns to the mud.”” 2 Peter 2:22 NLT http://bible.com/116/2pe.2.22.nlt

Rooted in Christ!

“That Christ may dwell in your hearts by faith; that ye, being rooted and grounded in love,” ‭‭Ephesians‬ ‭3:17‬ ‭KJV‬‬ http://bible.com/1/eph.3.17.kjv The reason why many of us struggle to follow the Word of God is because Christ is not rooted in our hearts. We are not rooted in Christ. You see, Christ is the cornerstone of our faith, and we need to be rooted in Him for us to live successfully as Christians. The Word of God should be where our actions, words and thoughts should be based from. James talked about what our words should be like in chapter 3 of his book:  "With the tongue we praise our Lord and Father, and with it we curse human beings, who have been made in God’s likeness.   10  Out of the same mouth come praise and cursing. My brothers and sisters, this should not be.   11  Can both fresh water and salt water flow from the same spring?   12  My brothers and sisters, can a fig tree bear olives, or a grapevine bear figs?  Neither can a salt spring produce fresh w

Biblical Truths - 1 - Who is the blind one?

"If you were blind, your wouldn't be guilty," Jesus replied. "But you remain guilty because you claim you can see." Today's Verse of the Day Image Please reference this blog when sharing the image!  John 9:41 NLT In the beginning of John 9, we meet a man who was born blind. He is then healed by the power of Jesus, and then is questioned by Pharisees, He then meets Jesus and declares Him the Son of God. But there's a lesson in this story - about spiritual blindness. You see, this blind beggar accepted that he was a sinner (as all men have fallen short of God's glory) and was in need of help. Not only physical help (being blind), but also spiritual help, on the inside. Jesus wants us to learn that we need to accept that we need help before He can help us. If we don't, He cannot, just like in the Pharisees case. The Pharisees were blind and thought they could see and that just because they were descendants of Moses they needed no deliverance

We Need God

“If a man abide not in me, he is cast forth as a branch, and is withered; and men gather them, and cast them into the fire, and they are burned.” John 15:6 KJV http://bible.com/1/jhn.15.6.kjv  Many of us are struggling with living as Christians, and this is one of the reasons why. It's because we aren't abiding in Jesus, and we think we can live a life in the flesh and walk with God. This is not possible, and will never work. We don't leave everything to God and instead let our pride take over and we say to God 'I don't need you'. But we don't understand that without Him we wouldn't be here today. Jesus described us as an adulterous generation, in Matthew 16:4. “A wicked and adulterous generation seeketh after a sign; and there shall no sign be given unto it, but the sign of the prophet Jonas. And he left them, and departed.” Matthew 16:4 KJV http://bible.com/1/mat.16.4.kjv When Jesus says adulterous here, He's not talking about

Remembering what Xmas is about

“For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace.” Isaiah 9:6 KJV http://bible.com/1/isa.9.6.kjv.  It’s Christmas Day, the day when Jesus was born! Jesus was our Saviour, and His birth was the beginning of a huge upgrade plan that God had for us. You see, when Adam died, we lost the image of God. The image of God was taken away from us. So we lost the image of God. But Jesus came to restore us, and bring us back into God’s image, and upgrade us to a higher, more powerful and rich life full of blessings and honour. But don’t think it’s all sit back and relax! No, no, no! You have a responsibility to keep this image and submit to God, to fight the devil. And remember, love was born at Christmas. A Saviour was born at Christmas. Life was born at Christmas. “The beauty of life does not depend on how happy you are, bu

Merry Christmas!

Discovering Truth would like to wish you a very Merry Christmas, as we celebrate the Wonderful Saviour’s birth! Remember - the beauty of life is not how happy you are, but how happy others can be because of you.  MERRY CHRISTMAS! 🎄

What’s Xmas all about?

“For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world should be saved through him.” John 3:17 NET http://bible.com/107/jhn.3.17.net Remember this this Christmas season! Christmas isn’t all about presents, it’s a time when love was born and God sent the greatest gift the world had ever received. #dbverses2016xmas @daily_bible_verses_2017 We wish you a very Merry Christmas!

Let the Spirit take control!

“Are you so foolish? Although you began with the Spirit, are you now trying to finish by human effort?” Galatians 3:3 NET http://bible.com/107/gal.3.3.net  This is why many of us still struggle with Christianity. We start with the Holy Spirit, but try and run our race with our own efforts, which is where everything goes all downhill. Don't you remember? Zechariah 4:6 says: “Therefore he told me, “These signify the word of the LORD to Zerubbabel: ‘Not by strength and not by power, but by my Spirit,’ says the LORD who rules over all.”” Zechariah 4:6 NET http://bible.com/107/zec.4.6.net We don't let the Spirit take control. We try and run the race in our human efforts, on ourselves. But God is a Spirit and we can't walk with Him if we aren't Spirit too! “God is spirit, and the people who worship him must worship in spirit and truth.”” John 4:24 NET http://bible.com/107/jhn.4.24.net If the race started with Jesus, you need Jesus to finish it.
“Jesus said to his disciples, “Stumbling blocks are sure to come, but woe to the one through whom they come! It would be better for him to have a millstone tied around his neck and be thrown into the sea than for him to cause one of these little ones to sin. Watch yourselves! If your brother sins, rebuke him. If he repents, forgive him. Even if he sins against you seven times in a day, and seven times returns to you saying, ‘I repent,’ you must forgive him.”” ‭‭Luke‬ ‭17:1-4‬ ‭NET‬‬ http://bible.com/107/luk.17.1-4.net
“But Jesus said to them, “You are the ones who justify yourselves in men’s eyes, but God knows your hearts. For what is highly prized among men is utterly detestable in God’s sight.” ‭‭Luke‬ ‭16:15‬ ‭NET‬‬ http://bible.com/107/luk.16.15.net
“For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek.” ‭‭Romans‬ ‭1:16‬ ‭KJV‬‬ http://bible.com/1/rom.1.16.kjv

Food for thought!

“But one in a certain place testified, saying, What is man, that thou art mindful of him? or the son of man, that thou visitest him?” Hebrews 2:6 KJV http://bible.com/1/heb.2.6.kjv FOOD for thought!
“Forasmuch then as the children are partakers of flesh and blood, he also himself likewise took part of the same; that through death he might destroy him that had the power of death, that is, the devil;” ‭‭Hebrews‬ ‭2:14‬ ‭KJV‬‬ http://bible.com/1/heb.2.14.kjv

CAREFUL!

“And if thine eye offend thee, pluck it out, and cast it from thee: it is better for thee to enter into life with one eye, rather than having two eyes to be cast into hell fire.” Matthew 18:9 KJV http://bible.com/1/mat.18.9.kjv  What is Jesus saying here? Jesus is saying, it’s better to obey His Will and drop your evil nature. He is also saying that if you don’t obey His Will, but are destined for the Kingdom, He will make sure you get in, but a part of you will be gone. It may be physical like being crippled or blind, or spiritual.  Careful!
“Jesus saith unto him, I say not unto thee, Until seven times: but, Until seventy times seven.” ‭‭Matthew‬ ‭18:22‬ ‭KJV‬‬ http://bible.com/1/mat.18.22.kjv

Value the MOST PRECIOUS!

“Being born again, not of corruptible seed, but of incorruptible, by the word of God, which liveth and abideth for ever.” 1 Peter 1:23 KJV http://bible.com/1/1pe.1.23.kjv  This is what we need to recognise about who we are and where we come from. We don’t just have anything as Christians. We have something - the most valuable and precious thing that has ever been given to man. The Word of God. It’s incorruptible once it’s planted and can really change lives. Value it!

THE NARROW GATE

““You can enter God’s Kingdom only through the narrow gate. The highway to hell is broad, and its gate is wide for the many who choose that way. But the gateway to life is very narrow and the road is difficult, and only a few ever find it.” ‭‭Matthew‬ ‭7:13-14‬ ‭NLT‬‬ http://bible.com/116/mat.7.13-14.nlt

NOT WHAT YOU KNOW!

“Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding.” Proverbs 3:5 KJV http://bible.com/1/pro.3.5.kjv  This verse is talking to many of us today. We are like children of disobedience, and never want to lean on Him. We think our own backs are good enough. So, what about when the storms and winds come? Is that when you’ll be shouting, ‘Oh God!’. You decided to disobey, and therefore must face the consequences. Another problem we have as humans is pride. It’s in our human nature, which is why the first thing we need to do when we become Christian’s is to drop the human nature. God cannot with prideful people who always think there way is the best way. Lean NOT ON YOUR UNDERSTANDING. Don’t trust in what you know!

We are the Sons of God!

“But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name:” John 1:12 KJV http://bible.com/1/jhn.1.12.kjv We are the sons of God. This is something we need to delve into a bit deeper. Who is a son? A son of God is someone who God has given power over sin over. Are you wondering why you are struggling to be a Christian? We need to stop holding onto flesh and sin. This is what is stopping us from being the true Heirs of God. Our will and our own selfish ambitions are keeping us back, they're making us look back. Here's what Jesus said about those who look back: “And Jesus said unto him, No man, having put his hand to the plough, and looking back, is fit for the kingdom of God.” Luke 9:62 KJV http://bible.com/1/luk.9.62.kjv Selfish ambitions: “Let nothing be done through selfish ambition or conceit, but in lowliness of mind let each esteem others better than himself.” Philippians 2:3 NKJV http:
“In the beginning the Word already existed. The Word was with God, and the Word was God.” ‭‭John‬ ‭1:1‬ ‭NLT‬‬ http://bible.com/116/jhn.1.1.nlt

Recognising Jesus.

“He came into the very world he created, but the world didn’t recognize him.” John 1:10 NLT http://bible.com/116/jhn.1.10.nlt Even though many of us call ourselves Christians today, we still don’t recognise who Jesus is. And although it may sound insulting, we are still rejecting Jesus. We don’t recognise Him which means we don’t Whom it is that is calling us, and we misinterpret Jesus for something else. We misinterpret Him, and still believe we are following Him. We cannot be rejecting Jesus and think we’re following Him. It’s because we don’t recognise Him that we cannot find Him or we don’t hear Him clearly. We can only recognise Him through His Word, we need purified hearts to come before God. Then we can recognise who He is, what He has for us, and what He wants us to do.
“Jesus replied, “I am the bread of life. Whoever comes to me will never be hungry again. Whoever believes in me will never be thirsty.” ‭‭John‬ ‭6:35‬ ‭NLT‬‬ http://bible.com/116/jhn.6.35.nlt

WHY OH WHY?

“But don’t be so concerned about perishable things like food. Spend your energy seeking the eternal life that the Son of Man can give you. For God the Father has given me the seal of his approval.”” John 6:27 NLT http://bible.com/116/jhn.6.27.nlt Why oh why do we look for perishable things? #dbverses2016 #votd #biblepostit

NO MORE MEN TRADITIONS!

“For they said to you, “In the end time there will come scoffers, propelled by their own ungodly desires.” These people are divisive, worldly, devoid of the Spirit.” Jude 1:18-19 NET http://bible.com/107/jud.1.18-19.net We should not follow the traditions of men. Many of us  are influenced by many human traditions that seem to come from God. These people, just as James said, they are divisive and worldly. They are also devoid of the Holy Spirit. #dbverses2016
“Create in me a clean heart, O God; and renew a right spirit within me.” ‭‭Psalms‬ ‭51:10‬ ‭KJV‬‬ http://bible.com/1/psa.51.10.kjv

JAMES 1:6

“But let him ask in faith, nothing wavering. For he that wavereth is like a wave of the sea driven with the wind and tossed.” ‭‭James‬ ‭1:6‬ ‭KJV‬‬ http://bible.com/1/jas.1.6.kjv

Who can defeat us? NO-ONE!

“What shall we then say to these things? If God be for us, who can be against us?” Romans 8:31 KJV http://bible.com/1/rom.8.31.kjv The answer is no-one, not even satan! As long as you completely trust in God, and put your full faith in Him, he’ll fight for you and give you all you need. This means all you need to do is fulfil your duty, be obedient and all of these will happen to you!
“Thy word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path.” ‭‭Psalms‬ ‭119:105‬ ‭KJV‬‬ http://bible.com/1/psa.119.105.kjv

Remember who you are!

“For if any be a hearer of the word, and not a doer, he is like unto a man beholding his natural face in a glass: For he beholdeth himself, and goeth his way, and straightway forgetteth what manner of man he was.” James 1:23-24 KJV http://bible.com/1/jas.1.23-24.kjv  Many of us fall away from the path of light because we forget who we are in the mirror. The Mirror is the Word of God, which defines who we are as Christians. It also defines how we look spiritually, and tells us if we are spiritually fit or not. Sometimes, we forget who we are and revive flesh, after killing it, and go back to our old ways. Even just looking back counts!  “Remember Lot's wife.” Luke 17:32 KJV http://bible.com/1/luk.17.32.kjv Don’t look back, and remember who you are!

STAND!

“We have freedom now because Christ made us free. So stand strong. Do not change and go back into the slavery of the law.” Galatians 5:1 ICB http://bible.com/1359/gal.5.1.icb Don’t go back! Jesus tells us not to, and why should we if everything we need is in Him? Let us not get trapped but stay in the light. —————————————- What’s your favourite Bible verse? STEADY ON!

“If ye continue in the faith grounded and settled, and be not moved away from the hope of the gospel, which ye have heard, and which was preached to every creature which is under heaven; whereof I Paul am made a minister;” Colossians 1:23 KJV http://bible.com/1/col.1.23.kjv  Many of us struggle to keep our feet down and holding onto the Gospel. We need to learn to overcome pear pressure, as these things will come. God has given us the ability to overcome, it may not be easy, but we still have the ability. Let us stand strong! ———————————————————— What’s your favourite Bible verse? Comment below or use the hashtag #dbv17fav  Looking forward to seeing those awesome Bible verses!

Let GOD take control!

“In this was manifested the love of God toward us, because that God sent his only begotten Son into the world, that we might live through him.” 1 John 4:9 KJV http://bible.com/1/1jn.4.9.kjv It is only through Jesus that we live and move and have our being. We need to recognise that nothing can be or ever will be done of our own accord. We need to let God take control. —————————————- What’s your favourite Bible verse? NOTHING by YOU!

“For in him we live, and move, and have our being; as certain also of your own poets have said, For we are also his offspring.” Acts 17:28 KJV http://bible.com/1/act.17.28.kjv None of us live by our own power, and we never can and we never will. We only live by the strength and power of Jesus. Remember, Paul told us in the book of Philippians, “I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me.” Philippians 4:13 KJV http://bible.com/1/php.4.13.kjv Notice how it doesn’t say ‘I can do all things by my own’. It says we can only do them through Christ, which gives us the strength. We have no power, only God’s! Respect this and you will keep it.
“But thanks be to God, which giveth us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.” ‭‭1 Corinthians‬ ‭15:57‬ ‭KJV‬‬ http://bible.com/1/1co.15.57.kjv

What is eternal life?

“But we are not of them who draw back unto perdition; but of them that believe to the saving of the soul.” Hebrews 10:39 KJV http://bible.com/1/heb.10.39.kjv It can be very tempting to turn away from the Truth and go back to your old ways. In fact, unfortunately, many people do. But even though the road seems tempting, by the power of God, we can put our foot down and say no to satan. Eternal life is the best gift we could ever get, and plus, it’s free! The gift of no death, no pain, hardship, sin! Just life! And happiness and joy and love! And you want to give it away? We need to come into realisation of what we have as Christians. Don’t give it away!
“There came unto him a woman having an alabaster box of very precious ointment, and poured it on his head, as he sat at meat.” ‭‭Matthew‬ ‭26:7‬ ‭KJV‬‬ http://bible.com/1/mat.26.7.kjv

SPIRITUALLY ALERT 🚨!

“Confess to one another therefore your faults (your slips, your false steps, your offenses, your sins) and pray [also] for one another, that you may be healed and restored [to a spiritual tone of mind and heart]. The earnest (heartfelt, continued) prayer of a righteous man makes tremendous power available [dynamic in its working].” James 5:16 AMPC http://bible.com/8/jas.5.16.ampc The prayers of a righteous person are ones that have power to change things. But this prayer is earnest, persistence and consistent. Many of us struggle when praying and find it a battle. But it shouldn’t be a battle at all! It’s a main part of the Christian’s identity: prayer. It is how we not only connect withGod but with the spirit realm. Jesus told us to pray always:  “Watch and pray, that ye enter not into temptation: the spirit indeed is willing, but the flesh is weak.” Matthew 26:41 KJV http://bible.com/1/mat.26.41.kjv Let’s start being spiritually alert.

KILL flesh!

“Traitors, heady, highminded, lovers of pleasures more than lovers of God;” 2 Timothy 3:4 KJV http://bible.com/1/2ti.3.4.kjv One of the reasons that many of us still struggle in our walk with God is because we love pleasure more than God. Our pleasure is what we love, the flesh. It entices us and then drags us of the path to light. This happens because we are not serious or fully ‘grounded’ in Christ Jesus. James said, “But every man is tempted, when he is drawn away of his own lust, and enticed. Then when lust hath conceived, it bringeth forth sin: and sin, when it is finished, bringeth forth death.” James 1:14-15 KJV http://bible.com/1/jas.1.14-15.kjv It’s because of our selfish ambition that our sin comes from. We still desire, and lust over the things of the flesh. Stop it! Begin to love God and experience the love and peace of His Will. How? Kill flesh!

Stay as PARTAKERS of THE LIGHT!

“Who hath delivered us from the power of darkness, and hath translated us into the kingdom of his dear Son:” Colossians 1:13 KJV http://bible.com/1/col.1.13.kjv We need to stay in the light God has. But many of us today, still distracted by flesh, wander off into the darkness, and then satan begins to attack. Let us remain partakers of the light!

WHY PUT HIM SECOND?

“And he is before all things, and by him all things consist.” Colossians 1:17 KJV http://bible.com/1/col.1.17.kjv If Jesus is before all things, why do we put Him last? Why is He not as important as whatever’s first in your life? What’s going on - Jesus comes first, that’s what Paul says! Put Jesus first!

We CANNOT love - WITHOUT GOD!

“A new commandment I give unto you, That ye love one another; as I have loved you, that ye also love one another. By this shall all men know that ye are my disciples, if ye have love one to another.” John 13:34-35 KJV http://bible.com/1/jhn.13.34-35.kjv  Love is something impossible for any man in his carnal ability to do by himself. To many this is hard to believe, but it is very much the Truth. It is only by the power of the Holy Spirit that we can show love. Humans cannot show love, it is only by the Holy Spirit. “But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, forbearance, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control. Against such things there is no law.” Galatians 5:22-23 NIV http://bible.com/111/gal.5.22-23.niv There is something I want you to notice here. Can you see that Paul says the fruit of the SPIRIT. The Amplified Version explains it better: “But the fruit of the [Holy] Spirit [the work which His presence within accomplishes] is love, jo
“Stand therefore, having your loins girt about with truth, and having on the breastplate of righteousness;” ‭‭Ephesians‬ ‭6:14‬ ‭KJV‬‬ http://bible.com/1/eph.6.14.kjv

The GOSPEL is not A MYTH!

“For we have not followed cunningly devised fables, when we made known unto you the power and coming of our Lord Jesus Christ, but were eyewitnesses of his majesty.” 2 Peter 1:16 KJV http://bible.com/1/2pe.1.16.kjv The Gospel is not, as many may think, a made up myth or legend. It is more than a true story, it’s the reality of the world we live in today. It is not a story someone tried to devise that sparked up a group of people called ‘Christians’. The Gospel is not taught the way it should be taught. We should not teach it with excellency of speech, but with the power of the Holy Ghost. As leaders of churches, let us let the Holy Spirit guide us in what we do. “And I, brethren, when I came to you, came not with excellency of speech or of wisdom, declaring unto you the testimony of God. And my speech and my preaching was not with enticing words of man's wisdom, but in demonstration of the Spirit and of power:” 1 Corinthians 2:1, 4 KJV http://bible.com/1/1co.2

GOD has given YOU the POWER!

“Many are the afflictions of the righteous: but the Lord delivereth him out of them all.” Psalms 34:19 KJV http://bible.com/1/psa.34.19.kjv Many of us don’t realise that when problems come our way, we have the power to fight the problems. Jesus gives you the power to face the challenges, so His power can be expressed and shown through this situation. So that satan can be disgraced. This is why God was not impressed when Moses asked Him to save him. God has given Him the power to fight the Red Sea! And as soon as Moses used the power, God manifested His awesome power through the Red Sea. Let’s read it: “And the Lord said unto Moses, Wherefore criest thou unto me? speak unto the children of Israel, that they go forward: But lift thou up thy rod, and stretch out thine hand over the sea, and divide it: and the children of Israel shall go on dry ground through the midst of the sea. And Moses stretched out his hand over the sea; and the Lord caused the sea to go back by a str

Let us LIVE by GOD’S POWER!

“For though he was crucified through weakness, yet he liveth by the power of God. For we also are weak in him, but we shall live with him by the power of God toward you.” 2 Corinthians 13:4 KJV http://bible.com/1/2co.13.4.kjv We need to live by the power of God. This is our problem. We live by our own power! Live by God’s power!

Get RID OF 'me'!

“Therefore speak I to them in parables: because they seeing see not; and hearing they hear not, neither do they understand.” Matthew 13:13 KJV http://bible.com/1/mat.13.13.kjv Some of us are like this today. We see the miracles, the things that God is doing in our lives, but we don’t see. It’s like we are blind. But we hear. We hear the Word of God, very well, in fact, might encounter the Holy Spirit, but afterwards, it’s like nothing happened and we’re still in the same state as before! Before ANYONE can walk with God, you must get rid of the ‘me’ inside you. The ‘me’ means YOU, what YOU want, like to go, etc. It's our pride (our ‘me’) that’s stopping us from receiving what God wants us to. It's not that God doesn't want to bless us, we are just not prepared. Why? Because our flesh and will (or 'me') is not completely gone. Let go! Let go! Jesus wants to work with you, but he can't if 'me' is still there! Get rid of it!

ALL I need is JESUS!

“For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.” Matthew 6:21 NET http://bible.com/107/mat.6.21.net  Where is your treasure? If it’s in flesh, that’s where your heart is. As Christians our treasure should be in God. We should not look for outside alternatives, because it’s there satan is gonna catch us. All we need is in Jesus! 😁

SEEK GOD FIRST!

“But above all pursue his kingdom and righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well.” Matthew 6:33 NET http://bible.com/107/mat.6.33.net This is what many Christians don’t do. We present petitions to God out of our selfish ambitions, not out of humility of heart. We need to seek GOD first and start to build up treasure in heaven, then we’ll get everything!

THANK HIM!

“For of him, and through him, and to him, are all things: to whom be glory for ever. Amen.” Romans 11:36 KJV http://bible.com/1/rom.11.36.kjv Jesus made all things. Whatever you have right now is as a result of his glory and power. Thank Him for it!

FOR YOUR GOOD!

“And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose.” Romans 8:28 KJV http://bible.com/1/rom.8.28.kjv Whatever you maybe facing now, it will certainly work out for your good, in Jesus’ name!

JOHN 1:1

“In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.” ‭‭John‬ ‭1:1‬ ‭KJV‬‬ http://bible.com/1/jhn.1.1.kjv

Operating ABOVE the CARNAL mind!

“The person with the Spirit makes judgments about all things, but such a person is not subject to merely human judgments,” 1 Corinthians 2:15 NIV http://bible.com/111/1co.2.15.niv Many of us are not operating at the level God expects us to be at. We still live in the flesh, and act on what we see, hear, smell, taste, and what we can touch. We need to begin to live above the level of ‘normality’. In 1 Corinthians 3, Paul was explaining to the Corinthians how he couldn’t feed them with the spiritual meat because they still operated at the carnal level. As much as he wanted to feed them the spiritual meat, Paul couldn’t because they were putting their mental ability into their Christianity, which, as we know, can not work. Let’s read it: “Brothers and sisters, I could not address you as people who live by the Spirit but as people who are still worldly—mere infants in Christ. I gave you milk, not solid food, for you were not yet ready for it. Indeed, you are still not ready. Yo

PUT ON THE MIND OF CHRIST!

“The Spirit of the LORD will rest on him— the Spirit of wisdom and of understanding, the Spirit of counsel and of might, the Spirit of the knowledge and fear of the LORD —” Isaiah 11:2 NIV http://bible.com/111/isa.11.2.niv Here, Isaiah is talking about the mind of Christ. Jesus is the mind of Christ, and this is the focus in this verse. The mind of Christ is what enables us to do the will if God and be like Jesus. But many of us refuse to put on the mind of Christ, because we are carnal. If you are still ruled by your five senses, you are indirectly refusing to put on the mind of Christ. When we put on the mind of Christ, we become extraordinary Christ beings. But we still act like mere humans! In fact, Paul said this same thing too, in 1 Corinthians chapter 3: “Brothers and sisters, I could not address you as people who live by the Spirit but as people who are still worldly—mere infants in Christ. You are still worldly. For since there is jealousy and quarreling among
