“Peter’s words pierced their hearts, and they said to him and to the other apostles, “Brothers, what should we do?””
Acts of the Apostles 2:37 NLT

There's something I want to point out about the word 'pierced' in this verse. It is not the type of pierce that may happen for example, if your grandma dies. No! This piercing is a proving of Scripture: “For the word of God is alive and powerful. It is sharper than the sharpest two-edged sword, cutting between soul and spirit, between joint and marrow. It exposes our innermost thoughts and desires.”
Hebrews 4:12 NLT

The bit in bold is what I want you to look at. These people who were listening to Peter's words (even though they were really the Holy Spirit's words), were pierced with the Word of God. It began to judge their hearts and expose them. They decided to see that they were dirty and change. The Word was living and active in them, once they began to meditate on it. Let the Word be active in you, too!
