“The Lord your God is a devouring fire; he is a jealous God.”
Deuteronomy 4:24 NLT

Many Christians misinterpret the meaning of Deuteronomy 4:24. They think that the meaning is God is a jealous God, as in the human type of jealous π. But it's not! π²! When it says jealous, it means that He loves you so much, that He doesn't want anyone else to have you (like Satan, I mean). Let's put it this way:
You're walking around with your wife, normally and discussing when she suddenly runs off. Not to the shops, not home, but to a man. She starts kissing him and saying to him: 'I love you, I missed you, I love you!' It would be absolutely embarrassing, shocking and saddening for the husband. I'm sure they'd be a huge red mark on the guy the wife liked head!
This scenario is just an example of what we do to Jesus sometimes. We turn to Christ, but then leave Him, like a wife abandoning her Husband, and then we go after the world. Listen, stop it and stay with Christ!
