Count your blessings!

“Abram asked, “Almighty LORD, what will you give me? Since I’m going to die without children, Eliezer of Damascus will inherit my household. You have given me no children, so this member of my household will be my heir.” Suddenly, the LORD spoke his word to Abram again. He said, “This man will not be your heir. Your own son will be your heir.”
‭‭Genesis‬ ‭15:4 GW

Sometime we just go blabbering on about the things we don't have. We go, "Uh! I don't have a really good Xbox!" Or "My laptop's broken! I don't have any money!". Abram was starting to do this. God had to speak to him and tell Abram he was looking at the wrong thing! Abram needed to know that he needed to count his blessings. You might say, "I don't have any blessings!" but you do! God has given you a life which is a gift and does NOT belong to you. God has given you this life for HIS purpose, but He doesn't force you to believe in Him. In fact, God let's you decide how you live your life. He is clever as well! Because when you appear to Him on Judgement day, you will have no excuse for your actions. These were your choices! Which you did, ignoring your conscience. God gave you this and this is how you know what is right and wrong. What is evil and what is good. Jesus is a merciful God, more merciful than what you think! He gave us the gift of life, freewill, conscience and salvation as well as plenty, hundreds, millions more! God wants everyone to follow Him and this is the least we can do for all those blessings!

The Godly Godliness

1 Timothy 4:7 -  7  Have nothing to do with godless myths and old wives’ tales;  rather, train yourself to be godly.  The godliness Paul is talking about here means piety to God, a revered holiness. What do I mean? Well, on what we do we should have a holiness for him. Our clothing, people should be able to say 'this is a real Christian'. Our behaviour should also have a holiness. A fear of God. As the Bible says, the fear of God gives life. This holiness is about the things you do, how you respond to God and to the things of God. Our character influences the way we live and what we do-it's the way people determine who you are, for it is always the inner man the speaks out. They are books and magazines you shouldn't read, things you shouldn't watch and games you shouldn't play. The excuse 'it's Christian' won't work this time! Watch with your children - make sure you are sure of what they watch. Never forget who you are in Christ: His own, o...

STOP HOLDING ONTO FLESH!

“He that hath my commandments, and keepeth them, he it is that loveth me: and he that loveth me shall be loved of my Father, and I will love him, and will manifest myself to him.” John 14:21 KJV http://bible.com/1/jhn.14.21.kjv We can see from this verse that a true follower of Jesus obeys his commands. But why do we find it difficult to follow Jesus? It’s because we are still holding onto flesh. We don’t want to let go, we think we can be both of God and of the flesh. But for you to work with God, the flesh must be dead. The flesh is your mind, emotions and your will. I repeat, God cannot work with you if the flesh is still alive. We cannot still hold on to the flesh. We are still sitting on the fence, not going in or out. Jesus said: “So then because thou art lukewarm, and neither cold nor hot, I will spue thee out of my mouth.” Revelation 3:16 KJV http://bible.com/1/rev.3.16.kjv Let’s stop holding onto the flesh!

Pondering the Bible: How can a good God allow evil?

""The heart is deceitful above all things, And desperately wicked; Who can know it?" Jeremiah 17:9 NKJV http://bible.com/114/jer.17.9.nkjv Q:  How can a good God allow evil?  This is the question I get from many Christianity skeptics. Well, let’s think all the way back to the beginning. God gave Adam and Eve a choice. To remain in His goodness, and enjoy a peaceful, free life, or go their own way and define good and evil for yourself. We all know what happened. The point I’m trying to make is,  man chose to do evil.  If you decide to deliberately burn yourself by putting your hand in an oven, you can’t blame the cook for that. It’s the same thing!  Man chose to do evil.  Well, why can’t God get rid of evil?  Do you want to remove your existence? Well, God doesn’t. You see, if God removed evil, He would have to remove man in the process, as man is evil. But He found a way to remove evil from us without wiping us out. He sent Jesus to die for u...
