Obey God without Fail! - Romans 6:16

"Don't you know that when you offer yourselves to someone as obedient slaves, you are slaves of the one you obey -- whether you are slaves to sin, which leads to death, or to obedience, which leads to righteousness?" - Romans 6:16

Please note that we are not God's slaves. We are His servants, but the version of this Bible describes it as slaves

When we obey God, it is a huge and very important thing to do. God tells us in His Word that obedience is better than sacrifice (1 Samuel 15:22). Obedience to God is important in our daily lives. In other terms, we should obey first, so that we do not need to be forgiven by Jesus. If God asked you to go to America where there are shootings, would you go? I would, rather than face the consequences. And, God would never let us be harmed, so no bullet will hit you! But God has to test you first and the Devil does to! To see if your trust is really in Him (God)and if you would obey Him no matter what happens. We can look at many examples that show us obedience to Jesus is one of the most important things to do.

1. Look at Jonah. If you read the book of Jonah, you'll find out that Jonah was commanded by God to go to the wicked city of Nineveh, but refused and ended up in a belly of a great fish. (The Bible does not mention what fish although some suggest it was a whale)
2. Look at Israel and its people. Jerusalem was destroyed and the Israelite's taken captive. They had cried out to the Lord many times, but still would not learn. Disobedience to God is a sin

You can learn what God wants and expects from you in His Word and you need to obey them.

"If you love Me, you will keep my commandments" - John 14:15

Many people need help and pray, but they do not listen or cannot listen to the answer. So they ask, and do not wait for an answer. They ask, then say to themselves 'Who cares? I'll do what I think!' and when God wants to answer them, they don't want to listen because of the pride which tells them, 'You know-it-all" . Let's look at what the Bible says:
"Trust in the LORD with all your heart, and do not rely on your own understanding; " - Proverbs 3:5 HCSB

See! "...do not rely on your own understanding"! God said it (through Solomon)!

Verses about obedience (some of my favourites):

Jeremiah 7:23

"But this is what I commanded them, saying, 'Obey My voice, and I will be your God, and you will be My people; and you will walk in all the way which I command you, that it may be well with you.'

1 Peter 1:2
"according to the foreknowledge of God the Father, by the sanctifying work of the Spirit, to obey Jesus Christ and be sprinkled with His blood: May grace and peace be yours in the fullest measure. "

Obeying God is an important principle everyone must learn. That includes children too. If you don't teach them to obey you, then they will find it difficult to obey God.

"So you must live as God's obedient children. Don't slip back into your old ways of living to satisfy your own desires. You didn't know any better then." - 1 Peter 1:14.

Once we've obeyed God, we shouldn't be thinking about the things we could've been doing! Serving and obeying God is an honour, even the small, and what you would call, unimportant things that you do for Him are special! You CANNOT obey God without His Spirit. No. To obey God, you need to hear His voice and to do so, you need to have God's Spirit in you, the Holy Spirit. Then you can obey God! We need to do what God tells us to do, not twist it into a way that allows us to do what our mind desires. We must follow them and take the command just as it was given to us, and we must do it properly, not half and half! Obey God without Fail!

Pondering the Bible: How can a good God allow evil?

""The heart is deceitful above all things, And desperately wicked; Who can know it?" Jeremiah 17:9 NKJV http://bible.com/114/jer.17.9.nkjv Q:  How can a good God allow evil?  This is the question I get from many Christianity skeptics. Well, let’s think all the way back to the beginning. God gave Adam and Eve a choice. To remain in His goodness, and enjoy a peaceful, free life, or go their own way and define good and evil for yourself. We all know what happened. The point I’m trying to make is,  man chose to do evil.  If you decide to deliberately burn yourself by putting your hand in an oven, you can’t blame the cook for that. It’s the same thing!  Man chose to do evil.  Well, why can’t God get rid of evil?  Do you want to remove your existence? Well, God doesn’t. You see, if God removed evil, He would have to remove man in the process, as man is evil. But He found a way to remove evil from us without wiping us out. He sent Jesus to die for u...

Inspiration Word - 4/26/18

The strength for our conquering and our victory should not be reliant on ourselves, but continually on Christ. The Bible does not teach that sin is completely eradicated from the Christian in this life, but it does teach that sin shall no longer reign over you. The strength and power of sin have been broken. The Christian now has resources available to live above and beyond sin and the world. Whosoever is born of God does not practice sin. It is like the little girl who said that when the devil came knocking with a temptation, she just sent Jesus to the door. Daily Prayer Lord Jesus, I need Your power continually. You know how many times I am tempted. Help me to not be reliant on myself.

DON'T LOOK BACK!

“Now the just shall live by faith: but if any man draw back, my soul shall have no pleasure in him. But we are not of them who draw back unto perdition; but of them that believe to the saving of the soul.” Hebrews 10:38-39 KJV http://bible.com/1/heb.10.38-39.kjv  Many of us, when we face troubles or hardships we just give up. 1 year, 2 years then we just give up. Or, even worse, we start to think about joining the world again, drawing back from our eternal life. Satan will give you hardships and challenges, but these are not to destroy you, but strengthen you.  This is why we must not give up. God uses our challenges to strengthen us. We must not draw back from our faith. Jesus told us this: “And Jesus said unto him, No man, having put his hand to the plough, and looking back, is fit for the kingdom of God.” Luke 9:62 KJV http://bible.com/1/luk.9.62.kjv So don't look back, back at your past life and start thinking about the world. Focus on Jesus, and remem...
