"That according to the riches of His glory, He may grant you to be strengthened with power through His Spirit in your inner being, so that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith..." - Ephesians 3:16-17 KJV
Okay. I wanted to talk a little bit more on faith. When Paul writes 'dwell in your hearts through faith' what does it mean? This means that we have to show our confidence and belief in Christ, before He comes into our hearts. He knows when we want to trick Him or not. So don't bother being cunning! Because wisdom comes from the Lord! So, if our human efforts cannot make faith to work, what can? (Zechariah 4:6) Our confidence and belief in Jesus! We just have to say, "Jesus, take care of this for me. I don't want to any more. I can't do it by my own power." Acknowledging that you can't do it alone, gives you the first step forward. Then comes the hard bit. When I mean hard, I mean HARD. Because most people people fall away after this testing. It's a bit like a country marathon. The country would only choose the best people, right? It's the exact same with God! God only wants those who are willing to give up everything to follow Him. Now onto the power bit. Faith gives us power, once we know when and how to use it. It revives us when our batteries run down. We have hope and confidence that God would not want bad things for us. When we go through that storm, we have faith. And God does not let us go through the storms in vain. " And the God of all grace, who called you to his eternal glory in Christ, after you have suffered a little while, will himself restore you and make you strong, firm and steadfast." - 1 Peter 5:10
So our faith gets us through suffering? Hmm...I don't get it.
Our faith provides us the strength, as said in our daily verse today, to go through that time. Our 'inner being' is our soul. Our spirit. You see, once faith is activated, Jesus knows we're ready.
So faith is basically confidence? In Jesus?
Exactly!
What about the 'riches of His glory'? What does that mean?
His glory and our faith both work together to protect us from the evil one. From Satan. The riches part means our reward after our mission as Christians is complete. To meet Jesus. After our long rest, of course!
