What is faith and how do I use it? Learn about faith in this devotional...

"Who is it that overcomes the world except those who believe that Jesus {is the Son} of God" - 1 John 5:5
Today I wanted to to talk to you about #faith. Many pastors and preachers mix up faith and put aside the bible for proof. They just all-talk. "Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen." - Hebrews 11:1. What this verse means is that faith is seeing ahead of the situation now. It is saying, "No, this is only the beginning. The real thing is coming" to your situation. Or, it is saying, "I don't care what the Devil says! God has worked a way out of this!". But some people have the wrong mindset and fix themselves on "I won't wait. It will always go wrong". These people do not understand the power of their mind. Your speech, mind and soul can control your future. Some people say: "I'm never gonna get free from my _____" Even if the doctor says this, doesn't mean us as Christians should say it! We should use our authority to good use. "This thing overcomes the world, our faith" - 1 John 5:4. If our beliefs control the whole world, why do we wait? Our faith can control anything. Satan is under our feet. Our faith is strengthened when we read our Bibles and pray for us and each other. We should think positive and not negative things. That should round up what faith is!

How do I use faith?

Faith predicts the unseen. For example, everything may be going well in someone's life, but you see Satan's evil plan. To use faith, we need to believe that God knows what He is doing and, using the power Jesus has given us, to command the devils and demons in that somone's life are sent back to where they come from. Many people never teach on this because they don't understand it. Use faith and grow it!

STOP HOLDING ONTO FLESH!

“He that hath my commandments, and keepeth them, he it is that loveth me: and he that loveth me shall be loved of my Father, and I will love him, and will manifest myself to him.” John 14:21 KJV http://bible.com/1/jhn.14.21.kjv We can see from this verse that a true follower of Jesus obeys his commands. But why do we find it difficult to follow Jesus? It’s because we are still holding onto flesh. We don’t want to let go, we think we can be both of God and of the flesh. But for you to work with God, the flesh must be dead. The flesh is your mind, emotions and your will. I repeat, God cannot work with you if the flesh is still alive. We cannot still hold on to the flesh. We are still sitting on the fence, not going in or out. Jesus said: “So then because thou art lukewarm, and neither cold nor hot, I will spue thee out of my mouth.” Revelation 3:16 KJV http://bible.com/1/rev.3.16.kjv Let’s stop holding onto the flesh!

Put on the armour! The Armour! The Armour! The Armour of God!

' Order the buckler and shield, and draw near to battle! Harness the horses, and mount up you horsemen! Stand forth with your helmets , polish the spears, put on the armour!  - Jeremiah 46: 3-4 This verse talk about a battle. Not a battle of the physical (the seen) but a battle of the spiritual (the unseen). We need to stand up in the faith! We must defend ourselves from the enemy! "Be clear-minded and alert. Your opponent, the devil, is prowling around like a roaring lion, looking for someone to devour." - 1 Peter 5:8. What do we need to do to shield us from the enemy? How do we stop "the roaring lion"  from attacking us? Here's the good news! God has given us an armour! The Armour of God (or AOG for short) in Ephesians 6:14-17 talks about this armour what we should wear, do and understand! " Stand firm then, with the belt of truth buckled around your waist, with the breastplate of righteousness in place, and with your feet fitted with the readine...

The Godly Godliness

1 Timothy 4:7 -  7  Have nothing to do with godless myths and old wives’ tales;  rather, train yourself to be godly.  The godliness Paul is talking about here means piety to God, a revered holiness. What do I mean? Well, on what we do we should have a holiness for him. Our clothing, people should be able to say 'this is a real Christian'. Our behaviour should also have a holiness. A fear of God. As the Bible says, the fear of God gives life. This holiness is about the things you do, how you respond to God and to the things of God. Our character influences the way we live and what we do-it's the way people determine who you are, for it is always the inner man the speaks out. They are books and magazines you shouldn't read, things you shouldn't watch and games you shouldn't play. The excuse 'it's Christian' won't work this time! Watch with your children - make sure you are sure of what they watch. Never forget who you are in Christ: His own, o...
