Why is there temptation and is it good?

"God is faithful, He will not let you be tempted beyond what you can bear. But when you are tempted, He will also provide a way out so that you can endure it" - 1 Corinthians 10:13

We are ALL tempted. From childbirth to the age we are now. There is no way we can stop it. It just comes. But always remember, if Jesus can bear it, you can because you are His son or daughter. SEE Matthew 4.  When we are tempted, it is a time of struggling and a time of keeping faith and hope in God. We should see our temptations as normal things in life as Christians. Just things that'll keep on coming. James, half brother of Jesus, describes these as trials. Tests to see if we're still worth it. Like police dogs, they are tested every year. James gives us a comforting message in chapter 1:2-4:

Dear brothers and sisters,[a] when troubles of any kind come your way, consider it an opportunity for great joy. For you know that when your faith is tested, your endurance has a chance to grow. So let it grow, for when your endurance is fully developed, you will be perfect and complete, needing nothing.

This extract was from James 1:2-4 NLT.

Our patience grows once we are tested. We want to exceed more after prevailing that test. Our tests makes us stronger, so that our faith is fully developed! The Devil sends those temptations! This is biblical truth! So, the Devil's temptation is good for us because it enhances our faith! Question: But sometimes, I just feel like...the situation is too long or God's not there, why do I get those feelings if God is always with me?
Answer: The Devil is sending you depressions to pull down you faith. He can tempt, but he cannot change. And once you ignore him and tell him he's worth nothing, Christ strengthens you so that you can trample upon him, and all his spiritual scorpions and demons. SEE Luke 10:19. That should answer your question for #findingbiblicaltruth !

Our temptations enlift our souls as we understand from James' letter. Also, do not think that all these sufferings come for nothing! If you read 1 Peter 5:10 it gives you reassurance in the time you are facing and true reassurance and peace comes from God! So relax, temptation is only for a little time!

The Godly Godliness

1 Timothy 4:7 -  7  Have nothing to do with godless myths and old wives’ tales;  rather, train yourself to be godly.  The godliness Paul is talking about here means piety to God, a revered holiness. What do I mean? Well, on what we do we should have a holiness for him. Our clothing, people should be able to say 'this is a real Christian'. Our behaviour should also have a holiness. A fear of God. As the Bible says, the fear of God gives life. This holiness is about the things you do, how you respond to God and to the things of God. Our character influences the way we live and what we do-it's the way people determine who you are, for it is always the inner man the speaks out. They are books and magazines you shouldn't read, things you shouldn't watch and games you shouldn't play. The excuse 'it's Christian' won't work this time! Watch with your children - make sure you are sure of what they watch. Never forget who you are in Christ: His own, o...

STOP HOLDING ONTO FLESH!

“He that hath my commandments, and keepeth them, he it is that loveth me: and he that loveth me shall be loved of my Father, and I will love him, and will manifest myself to him.” John 14:21 KJV http://bible.com/1/jhn.14.21.kjv We can see from this verse that a true follower of Jesus obeys his commands. But why do we find it difficult to follow Jesus? It’s because we are still holding onto flesh. We don’t want to let go, we think we can be both of God and of the flesh. But for you to work with God, the flesh must be dead. The flesh is your mind, emotions and your will. I repeat, God cannot work with you if the flesh is still alive. We cannot still hold on to the flesh. We are still sitting on the fence, not going in or out. Jesus said: “So then because thou art lukewarm, and neither cold nor hot, I will spue thee out of my mouth.” Revelation 3:16 KJV http://bible.com/1/rev.3.16.kjv Let’s stop holding onto the flesh!

Pondering the Bible: How can a good God allow evil?

""The heart is deceitful above all things, And desperately wicked; Who can know it?" Jeremiah 17:9 NKJV http://bible.com/114/jer.17.9.nkjv Q:  How can a good God allow evil?  This is the question I get from many Christianity skeptics. Well, let’s think all the way back to the beginning. God gave Adam and Eve a choice. To remain in His goodness, and enjoy a peaceful, free life, or go their own way and define good and evil for yourself. We all know what happened. The point I’m trying to make is,  man chose to do evil.  If you decide to deliberately burn yourself by putting your hand in an oven, you can’t blame the cook for that. It’s the same thing!  Man chose to do evil.  Well, why can’t God get rid of evil?  Do you want to remove your existence? Well, God doesn’t. You see, if God removed evil, He would have to remove man in the process, as man is evil. But He found a way to remove evil from us without wiping us out. He sent Jesus to die for u...
