"Call unto Me, and I will answer you, and show you great and mighty things, which you do not know." - Jeremiah 33:3.

Many people either don't believe in God, or become atheists, partly because of this question:
Why doesn't God answer some of my prayers?
Answer: This is because of your heart. Before you ask this question you must ask yourself, am I pure? Have I sinned by mistake and need forgiveness? Or are my thoughts starting to make my light darken? Ask yourself these questions and their surely will be an answer.
But why must I ask myself these questions?
"So flee youthful passions and pursue righteousness, faith, love, and peace, along with those who call on the Lord from a pure heart" - 2 Timothy 2:22

If we are not thinking good thoughts or have sinned by mistake or not, we have stained our pure white robe. We need to ask for forgiveness and make it new again.
So, how does God know we're pure?
Good question! God will know by your heart. Things you've done, said or prayed for. God knows if you're tricking Him or not. He even knows your evil desires! Your desires of showing people, that God cannot give you what you wanted.

You said that pureness was part of the problem. What's the next bit?
Whoops! Must have trailed off a bit there! The next bit is about asking yourself, is this what God wants me to ask for? Yes...
How do we know what God wants us to ask for?
God's Word (the Bible) is His will. But, He will give you knowledge to understand it. Some jeer, saying it's a bundle of confusion, when actually, they haven't read it with God's Guidance. God's Guidance is His Spirit. The Holy Spirit. Need some backup? " And the Spirit of the Lord shall rest upon him, the Spirit of wisdom and understanding, the Spirit of counsel and might, the Spirit of knowledge and the fear of the Lord." - Isaiah 11:2

The Spirit of the Lord is just another Name for the Holy Spirit. If we are not pure, the Devil can get us. If we ask for something against God's Will, we will receive no answer. Why? The reasons are all up there! Here are some more scriptures about the Lord being pure, and, because we are Christ-like (His example) we must be pure too! Here are  4 5 you can read in your own time:
1 John 3:1-3
1 Peter 1:22
Psalm 73:1
Psalm 51:10
Job 8:6

But what scripture is there to say that God looks at hearts?
"But the Lord said to Samuel, “Do not look at his appearance or at the height of his stature, because I have rejected him. For the Lord sees not as man sees; for man looks at the outward appearance, but the Lord looks at the heart.” - 1 Samuel 16:7 AMP

So, keep yourself pure and away from sin! You may sin, but ask for forgiveness and try not to do that same mistake again!

The Godly Godliness

1 Timothy 4:7 -  7  Have nothing to do with godless myths and old wives’ tales;  rather, train yourself to be godly.  The godliness Paul is talking about here means piety to God, a revered holiness. What do I mean? Well, on what we do we should have a holiness for him. Our clothing, people should be able to say 'this is a real Christian'. Our behaviour should also have a holiness. A fear of God. As the Bible says, the fear of God gives life. This holiness is about the things you do, how you respond to God and to the things of God. Our character influences the way we live and what we do-it's the way people determine who you are, for it is always the inner man the speaks out. They are books and magazines you shouldn't read, things you shouldn't watch and games you shouldn't play. The excuse 'it's Christian' won't work this time! Watch with your children - make sure you are sure of what they watch. Never forget who you are in Christ: His own, o...

STOP HOLDING ONTO FLESH!

“He that hath my commandments, and keepeth them, he it is that loveth me: and he that loveth me shall be loved of my Father, and I will love him, and will manifest myself to him.” John 14:21 KJV http://bible.com/1/jhn.14.21.kjv We can see from this verse that a true follower of Jesus obeys his commands. But why do we find it difficult to follow Jesus? It’s because we are still holding onto flesh. We don’t want to let go, we think we can be both of God and of the flesh. But for you to work with God, the flesh must be dead. The flesh is your mind, emotions and your will. I repeat, God cannot work with you if the flesh is still alive. We cannot still hold on to the flesh. We are still sitting on the fence, not going in or out. Jesus said: “So then because thou art lukewarm, and neither cold nor hot, I will spue thee out of my mouth.” Revelation 3:16 KJV http://bible.com/1/rev.3.16.kjv Let’s stop holding onto the flesh!

Pondering the Bible: How can a good God allow evil?

""The heart is deceitful above all things, And desperately wicked; Who can know it?" Jeremiah 17:9 NKJV http://bible.com/114/jer.17.9.nkjv Q:  How can a good God allow evil?  This is the question I get from many Christianity skeptics. Well, let’s think all the way back to the beginning. God gave Adam and Eve a choice. To remain in His goodness, and enjoy a peaceful, free life, or go their own way and define good and evil for yourself. We all know what happened. The point I’m trying to make is,  man chose to do evil.  If you decide to deliberately burn yourself by putting your hand in an oven, you can’t blame the cook for that. It’s the same thing!  Man chose to do evil.  Well, why can’t God get rid of evil?  Do you want to remove your existence? Well, God doesn’t. You see, if God removed evil, He would have to remove man in the process, as man is evil. But He found a way to remove evil from us without wiping us out. He sent Jesus to die for u...
