Crucified with Christ to Show My Values!

"For we do not preach ourselves, but Jesus Christ as Lord and ourselves as your servants for Jesus' sake." - 2 Corinthians 4:5

Anyone can call themselves a servant of God. So how do we know who's who? Let us look at the Bible for an answer:

"By their fruits you will recognise them..." - Matthew 7:16

What are these 'fruits'?
Good question. These fruits are your actions. Let's look at the fruit of the Spirit:

So, if we are going to discern a true Christian or not, we should answer these questions:

Is this person loving?
Is this person joyful?
Is this person peaceful? and so on.

And one MOST important question:

DOES THIS PERSON - LISTEN TO GOD'S WORD ACT UPON GOD'S WORD?

I made sure that was understood by using the big font. To learn more about acting on God's Word, click here. We must preach the full gospel of Christ, without fail, and without twisting or removing any thing. You give it out, just as it was. Use this example:
Frank was given some chocolate cake, and had eaten some of it before he gave it to Jane

Some of us are like Frank. There are some bits we don't want to teach, so we erase them or twist them into something else. God's Word is not preached to its full effectiveness if it is not preached properly. Of course you can break it down so people understand, but you must still be aiming for them to understand that Word as it was. No removing, twisting, nothing. Just explaining or understanding. Just as it is!

What does the verse above mean, and you said to give it 'just as it is'?
This means that the Word you are given, has to be understood by the people you preach to.  That's no excuse for twisting and removing though!

"I have been crucified with Christ. It is no longer I who live, but Christ who lives in me. And the life I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me." - Galatians 2:20

What?!!! Crucified?! But I haven't died! Just...what does this mean!!!
What Paul is saying here is that he does not live for himself anymore. His old ways were gone. Now instead, Christ lives inside of Him and Paul gave His message 'just as it was' that it made the religious leaders mad! He had to tell them the truth, so that they may be set free and see their ignorance! (John 6:32-33) We are crucified in Christ, so let us show our fruits!

The Godly Godliness

1 Timothy 4:7 -  7  Have nothing to do with godless myths and old wives’ tales;  rather, train yourself to be godly.  The godliness Paul is talking about here means piety to God, a revered holiness. What do I mean? Well, on what we do we should have a holiness for him. Our clothing, people should be able to say 'this is a real Christian'. Our behaviour should also have a holiness. A fear of God. As the Bible says, the fear of God gives life. This holiness is about the things you do, how you respond to God and to the things of God. Our character influences the way we live and what we do-it's the way people determine who you are, for it is always the inner man the speaks out. They are books and magazines you shouldn't read, things you shouldn't watch and games you shouldn't play. The excuse 'it's Christian' won't work this time! Watch with your children - make sure you are sure of what they watch. Never forget who you are in Christ: His own, o...

STOP HOLDING ONTO FLESH!

“He that hath my commandments, and keepeth them, he it is that loveth me: and he that loveth me shall be loved of my Father, and I will love him, and will manifest myself to him.” John 14:21 KJV http://bible.com/1/jhn.14.21.kjv We can see from this verse that a true follower of Jesus obeys his commands. But why do we find it difficult to follow Jesus? It’s because we are still holding onto flesh. We don’t want to let go, we think we can be both of God and of the flesh. But for you to work with God, the flesh must be dead. The flesh is your mind, emotions and your will. I repeat, God cannot work with you if the flesh is still alive. We cannot still hold on to the flesh. We are still sitting on the fence, not going in or out. Jesus said: “So then because thou art lukewarm, and neither cold nor hot, I will spue thee out of my mouth.” Revelation 3:16 KJV http://bible.com/1/rev.3.16.kjv Let’s stop holding onto the flesh!

Pondering the Bible: How can a good God allow evil?

""The heart is deceitful above all things, And desperately wicked; Who can know it?" Jeremiah 17:9 NKJV http://bible.com/114/jer.17.9.nkjv Q:  How can a good God allow evil?  This is the question I get from many Christianity skeptics. Well, let’s think all the way back to the beginning. God gave Adam and Eve a choice. To remain in His goodness, and enjoy a peaceful, free life, or go their own way and define good and evil for yourself. We all know what happened. The point I’m trying to make is,  man chose to do evil.  If you decide to deliberately burn yourself by putting your hand in an oven, you can’t blame the cook for that. It’s the same thing!  Man chose to do evil.  Well, why can’t God get rid of evil?  Do you want to remove your existence? Well, God doesn’t. You see, if God removed evil, He would have to remove man in the process, as man is evil. But He found a way to remove evil from us without wiping us out. He sent Jesus to die for u...
