Why should we help others spiritually? Why shouldn't we go back to our old lives?

"Though they are fully aware of God's righteous decree that those who do such things deserve to die, they not only do themselves but approve and applaud others who practice them." - Romans 1:32

When we are Christians we should not wish for the habits we have left. Solomon  describes it as a dog going back to its vomit. (Proverbs 26:11) Once we have left our old life, we've left it and now need to be looking forward not back. But, just think, if you had all the riches in the world but had no reason to live what would it be worth? Nothing. This so Jesus describes in Mark 8:36:
"What do you benefit if you gain the whole world but lose your own soul?'"
We should not practice old doctrines and call ourselves Christians. Neither should we applaud those who practice our old doctrines. They may have been looking up to you, and now your Christian you show them the way because they followed your old doctrines. Do not let them continue! We must tell them what is right. "Therefore encourage one another and build each other up,..." - 1 Thessalonians 5:11. People say that we should not judge one another. It is in the Bible. But, just think again. Who was righteous at the time? No-one. Jesus hadn't paid the sacrifice so He was telling the people not to judge out of their sin. Nowadays, we have the Holy Spirit which helps us judge. God has given us a spirit to judge and love and of faith. For it is love that makes faith to work and faith to make hope to work. God bless you!

Pondering the Bible: How can a good God allow evil?

""The heart is deceitful above all things, And desperately wicked; Who can know it?" Jeremiah 17:9 NKJV http://bible.com/114/jer.17.9.nkjv Q:  How can a good God allow evil?  This is the question I get from many Christianity skeptics. Well, let’s think all the way back to the beginning. God gave Adam and Eve a choice. To remain in His goodness, and enjoy a peaceful, free life, or go their own way and define good and evil for yourself. We all know what happened. The point I’m trying to make is,  man chose to do evil.  If you decide to deliberately burn yourself by putting your hand in an oven, you can’t blame the cook for that. It’s the same thing!  Man chose to do evil.  Well, why can’t God get rid of evil?  Do you want to remove your existence? Well, God doesn’t. You see, if God removed evil, He would have to remove man in the process, as man is evil. But He found a way to remove evil from us without wiping us out. He sent Jesus to die for u...

Inspiration Word - 4/26/18

The strength for our conquering and our victory should not be reliant on ourselves, but continually on Christ. The Bible does not teach that sin is completely eradicated from the Christian in this life, but it does teach that sin shall no longer reign over you. The strength and power of sin have been broken. The Christian now has resources available to live above and beyond sin and the world. Whosoever is born of God does not practice sin. It is like the little girl who said that when the devil came knocking with a temptation, she just sent Jesus to the door. Daily Prayer Lord Jesus, I need Your power continually. You know how many times I am tempted. Help me to not be reliant on myself.

DON'T LOOK BACK!

“Now the just shall live by faith: but if any man draw back, my soul shall have no pleasure in him. But we are not of them who draw back unto perdition; but of them that believe to the saving of the soul.” Hebrews 10:38-39 KJV http://bible.com/1/heb.10.38-39.kjv  Many of us, when we face troubles or hardships we just give up. 1 year, 2 years then we just give up. Or, even worse, we start to think about joining the world again, drawing back from our eternal life. Satan will give you hardships and challenges, but these are not to destroy you, but strengthen you.  This is why we must not give up. God uses our challenges to strengthen us. We must not draw back from our faith. Jesus told us this: “And Jesus said unto him, No man, having put his hand to the plough, and looking back, is fit for the kingdom of God.” Luke 9:62 KJV http://bible.com/1/luk.9.62.kjv So don't look back, back at your past life and start thinking about the world. Focus on Jesus, and remem...
