"The end of all things is near, therefore, be alert, watch and pray" - 1 Peter 4:7
Jesus had said this same thing before in the Bible(Matthew 26:41) . Watch and pray. But what does it mean? How do we watch? When do we pray? What Peter and Jesus meant was that we should watch because the end of this world is near. Wars, destruction, the beast's 666 plate. We should be watching spiritually also, for what the Devil plans. This when prayer comes in. But this type of prayer is commanding. We command that whatever Satan is planning, is erased. This should be done at least on a weekly basis. The Devil only comes to kill, steal and destroy (John 10:10). He does not give life! Some of us are so taken up in our worldly desires, we'd do anything to make them come to pass. Satan can only twist what God has created. He'll (Satan) do it alright, but in a deal. You worship him forever, and he'll keep giving you what you want him to give you. DO NOT LISTEN! His secret desire is for you to die and never realise what authority and blessings in Christ you have! You, as a Christian, can order Satan to do what you want, but what you want Satan to do, has to fit in with what God wants. We have to destroy Satan's kingdom! He wants to kill you so you can go to the lake of fire with him! We have to stop Satan destroying us and trapping us in his blinded anger to revenge God. SEE Psalm 91/Luke 10:19.
These passages talk about our authority in Christ. Their are many more in the Bible, but these point out my point. Some of us, do not know about this power and are easily trapped. Others, know the authority but have no use of it, so the Devil takes it away (Luke 19:26) But some, recognise God's authority, and take it, to use appropiately.
Question & Answer:
Q = Being a Christian means suffering, and I hate that. So why do we bother?
A = Good question. For starters, no job is easy. 1 Peter 5:10 says your suffering is not in vain. He will also establish and reward you for your suffering. Mysteriously, when you go through suffering and come out victorious, you just wanna go for some more suffering!

We must recognise our authority and use it appropiately! Recognise authority!
