A Bit More About Godly Character- Proverbs 11:3

"The integrity of the upright guides them,
but the unfaithful are destroyed by their duplicity." - Proverbs 11:3

This verse leads to want I want to talk about today - Godly Character. Godly character is when we are Christ-like which we need to be all the time. If we call ourselves Christians our actions must be those of Godly character. People look at your life - who do they see, someone holding fast to their integrity or someone who leads and others to and dwells in deceit.  Philippians 4:8 says, :
"Finally, brothers, whatever is true, whatever is honourable, whatever is fair, whatever is pure, whatever is acceptable, whatever is commendable, if there is anything of excellence and if there is anything praiseworthy—keep thinking about these things."

This describes Godly character - many more verses here: https://www.kingjamesbibleonline.org/Bible-Verses-About-Christian-Character/

Godly character dwells in the things God has done for us and what is good and of 'good report'. If we keep on dwelling and getting worked up on the situation around us, we're not going to get anywhere. But when we believe and keep our faith strong in God, something will happen after a while
(Further study: 1 Peter 5:10, Ephesians 6:10-12)

"Beloved, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits, whether they are of God; because many false prophets have gone out into the world."- 1 John 4:1. Godly character does not believe every word they hear.

"and he will delight in the fearof the Lord.
He will not judge by what he sees with his eyes,    or decide by what he hears with his ears;" - Isaiah 11:3

Christ lives in us (2 Corinthians 3:5)  , which means we are like Him, like Paul said:
" There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither slave nor free, there is neither male nor female; for you are all one in Christ Jesus." - Galatians 3:38 . We are all ONE in Christ Jesus! So, we, like Isaiah 11:3 says do not decide disputes from what we hear, (Note: Isaiah is talking about the Messiah here)
but must test the spirit inside a person (1 John 4:1) for everyone has a spirit. How to know if the Spirit is of God:
"By this you know the Spirit of God: every spirit that confesses that Jesus Christ has come in the flesh is from God" -1 John 4:2. When we confess, the Holy Spirit which is in you, will tell you if a spirit is truly of God. This is what John is trying to explain. Because Satan is very good at pretending! He has no power! He can only twist - and erase - what God has planted in your life!

CONFESSION:

I am a heir of God and the spirit of Jesus is in me, taking me to new levels of glory. I am walking in the light just as Jesus is. I restore everything the devil bad taken in my life - I am a conqueror. In Jesus name, Amen!

Pondering the Bible: How can a good God allow evil?

""The heart is deceitful above all things, And desperately wicked; Who can know it?" Jeremiah 17:9 NKJV http://bible.com/114/jer.17.9.nkjv Q:  How can a good God allow evil?  This is the question I get from many Christianity skeptics. Well, let’s think all the way back to the beginning. God gave Adam and Eve a choice. To remain in His goodness, and enjoy a peaceful, free life, or go their own way and define good and evil for yourself. We all know what happened. The point I’m trying to make is,  man chose to do evil.  If you decide to deliberately burn yourself by putting your hand in an oven, you can’t blame the cook for that. It’s the same thing!  Man chose to do evil.  Well, why can’t God get rid of evil?  Do you want to remove your existence? Well, God doesn’t. You see, if God removed evil, He would have to remove man in the process, as man is evil. But He found a way to remove evil from us without wiping us out. He sent Jesus to die for u...

Acting on God's Word....

"Do not merely listen to the Word and deceive yourselves. practice it and do what it says." - James 1:22 Today I wanted to talk to you about the Bible's power. Many atheists and other non-Christians believe that the Bible is not true, but THEY haven't meditated on the Word that they heard from Church, study etc. Let's take a look at what Jesus said: " They are like a man building a house, who dug down deep and laid the foundation on rock. When a flood came, the torrent struck that house but could not shake it, because it was well built.   49  But the one who hears my words and does not put them into practice is like a man who built a house on the ground without a foundation. The moment the torrent struck that house, it collapsed and its destruction was complete.'" Any questions? OK. But HOW do I 'practice and do' what God's Word says?  You make sure that whatever it says, has effect on your life. What I mean to say is, make sur...

Pondering the Bible: How to deal with anger

"Human anger does not produce the righteousness God desires." James 1:20 NLT http://bible.com/116/jas.1.20.nlt Let’s admit it, we all deal with anger sometimes. But some more than most. When we do get angry, we get this overwhelming sense of bitterness and malice that is sometimes uncontrollable. This brings us to today’s question: How do you deal with anger?  Well, satan will always keep on trying to do things to make you angry. And as soon as you give in and never let it go, you have failed and satan can hold you back.  Here’s how to deal with it:  The Bible says that when you are angry you should not let it carry over to the next morning.  "And "don’t sin by letting anger control you." Don’t let the sun go down while you are still angry," Ephesians 4:26 NLT http://bible.com/116/eph.4.26.nlt This means you may only be angry for some time. But I wouldn’t for long:  "Understand this, my dear brothers and sisters: You must all be...
