Let's Meditate!

"Therefore, my dear brothers and sisters, stand firm. Let nothing move you. Always give yourselves fully to the work of the Lord, because you know that your labour in the Lord is not in vain." - 1 Corinthians 15:58

Some of us let our guard down once we face temptations or we partially take part in the work of God.. Our labour, the stuff we face, doesn't get looked upon - it gets rewarded. Nothing should move us according to Paul. He said it again in Ephesians six. This all happens in a different realm - the spiritual which controls the physical. Many of us blame people directly for their actions - which is wildly wrong. Because everyone is a spirit which means that to be able to control a person, you have to control them in the spirit. God  is a spirit, which means you need to talk with him through the spirit. For example, there's a bad odour in the room. What would you do?
A) Blame the smell on itself?
B) Find the smell's source and remove it

Yes, we would all choose B. The person is the smell - now we need to find the source. If the Spirit lives in you, the source you will be able to find easily - because the Spirit will tell you. The Holy Spirit brings everything to rememberance - meaning that He tells us things through our conscience. But sometimes we're not ready to hear - the Bible says we should.

" Know this, my dear brothers and sisters: everyone should be quick to listen, slow to speak, and slow to grow angry." - James 1:19 CEB

Did you hear that? Quick to listen... meaning we should also be ready to hear the voice of God. Some of us are too busy, too active. But God wants us to be connecting with Him all the time. Sometimes, you may here something and say 'What was that?' - it may be God trying to get your attention. You see, you shouldn't just read the Bible and put it down. No! You need to respond to God by praying, and meditating (thinking about and dwelling on) God's Word! Let's meditate!

Pondering the Bible: How can a good God allow evil?

""The heart is deceitful above all things, And desperately wicked; Who can know it?" Jeremiah 17:9 NKJV http://bible.com/114/jer.17.9.nkjv Q:  How can a good God allow evil?  This is the question I get from many Christianity skeptics. Well, let’s think all the way back to the beginning. God gave Adam and Eve a choice. To remain in His goodness, and enjoy a peaceful, free life, or go their own way and define good and evil for yourself. We all know what happened. The point I’m trying to make is,  man chose to do evil.  If you decide to deliberately burn yourself by putting your hand in an oven, you can’t blame the cook for that. It’s the same thing!  Man chose to do evil.  Well, why can’t God get rid of evil?  Do you want to remove your existence? Well, God doesn’t. You see, if God removed evil, He would have to remove man in the process, as man is evil. But He found a way to remove evil from us without wiping us out. He sent Jesus to die for u...

Acting on God's Word....

"Do not merely listen to the Word and deceive yourselves. practice it and do what it says." - James 1:22 Today I wanted to talk to you about the Bible's power. Many atheists and other non-Christians believe that the Bible is not true, but THEY haven't meditated on the Word that they heard from Church, study etc. Let's take a look at what Jesus said: " They are like a man building a house, who dug down deep and laid the foundation on rock. When a flood came, the torrent struck that house but could not shake it, because it was well built.   49  But the one who hears my words and does not put them into practice is like a man who built a house on the ground without a foundation. The moment the torrent struck that house, it collapsed and its destruction was complete.'" Any questions? OK. But HOW do I 'practice and do' what God's Word says?  You make sure that whatever it says, has effect on your life. What I mean to say is, make sur...

Pondering the Bible: How to deal with anger

"Human anger does not produce the righteousness God desires." James 1:20 NLT http://bible.com/116/jas.1.20.nlt Let’s admit it, we all deal with anger sometimes. But some more than most. When we do get angry, we get this overwhelming sense of bitterness and malice that is sometimes uncontrollable. This brings us to today’s question: How do you deal with anger?  Well, satan will always keep on trying to do things to make you angry. And as soon as you give in and never let it go, you have failed and satan can hold you back.  Here’s how to deal with it:  The Bible says that when you are angry you should not let it carry over to the next morning.  "And "don’t sin by letting anger control you." Don’t let the sun go down while you are still angry," Ephesians 4:26 NLT http://bible.com/116/eph.4.26.nlt This means you may only be angry for some time. But I wouldn’t for long:  "Understand this, my dear brothers and sisters: You must all be...
