The Bible said it, I obey it!

"Observe what the Lord your God requires: Walk in obedience to him, and keep his decrees and commands, his laws and regulations, as written in the Law of Moses. Do this so that you may prosper in all you do and wherever you go" - 1 Kings 2:3

This verse should be of great importance to us Christians on our walk with God. Obedience to God is one of the greatest thing we can do for Him. Forgiveness and Obedience are different things and this is what I want to explain today.

Forgiveness:
Cleansing by the blood of Jesus, that covers our sins after we disobey God and/or His commandments. His commands are for us to walk and live with Him, preach the Gospel, and make it have affect in our lives.

How?
We make it have affect by obeying it to build up our strength in God. Then we teach others and make sure we are an example for Him as Paul instructs us in Philippians 2.

How do we know if the prophets had the Holy Spirit?
"For prophecy never had its origin in the human will, but prophets, though human, spoke from God as they were carried along by the Holy Spirit." - 1 Peter 1:21
You can see that the Holy Spirit told Peter to write this for us. PROPHECY NEVER HAD ITS ORIGIN IN THE HUMAN WILL. Our will does not give us anything. The flesh is:
Your mind
Your emotion
Your will
The human will is made out of the flesh and is unstable and easy to break without Jesus and God's Word. The human will accomplishes nothing:
"'The Spirit gives life; the flesh profits nothing. The words I have spoken to you..." - John 6:63
Remember what I said about the flesh? It includes your will meaning that the human will is powerless! God's Word are life. Without them we are dead people.
"We demolish arguments and every pretension that sets itself up against the knowledge of God, and we take captive every thought to make it obedient to Christ." - 2 Corinthians 10:5. Our thoughts, actions and words are important. Satan uses every little wrong to get you out of this power that you use to slay his kingdom. Your foul words, or your aggressive attitude could land you in a lot of trouble. God commands us in Ephesians 4:29:
"Let no corrupting talk come out of your mouths, but only such as is good for building up, as fits the occasion, that it may give grace to those who hear.". The Bible says it! So we must obey it!

The Godly Godliness

1 Timothy 4:7 -  7  Have nothing to do with godless myths and old wives’ tales;  rather, train yourself to be godly.  The godliness Paul is talking about here means piety to God, a revered holiness. What do I mean? Well, on what we do we should have a holiness for him. Our clothing, people should be able to say 'this is a real Christian'. Our behaviour should also have a holiness. A fear of God. As the Bible says, the fear of God gives life. This holiness is about the things you do, how you respond to God and to the things of God. Our character influences the way we live and what we do-it's the way people determine who you are, for it is always the inner man the speaks out. They are books and magazines you shouldn't read, things you shouldn't watch and games you shouldn't play. The excuse 'it's Christian' won't work this time! Watch with your children - make sure you are sure of what they watch. Never forget who you are in Christ: His own, o...

STOP HOLDING ONTO FLESH!

“He that hath my commandments, and keepeth them, he it is that loveth me: and he that loveth me shall be loved of my Father, and I will love him, and will manifest myself to him.” John 14:21 KJV http://bible.com/1/jhn.14.21.kjv We can see from this verse that a true follower of Jesus obeys his commands. But why do we find it difficult to follow Jesus? It’s because we are still holding onto flesh. We don’t want to let go, we think we can be both of God and of the flesh. But for you to work with God, the flesh must be dead. The flesh is your mind, emotions and your will. I repeat, God cannot work with you if the flesh is still alive. We cannot still hold on to the flesh. We are still sitting on the fence, not going in or out. Jesus said: “So then because thou art lukewarm, and neither cold nor hot, I will spue thee out of my mouth.” Revelation 3:16 KJV http://bible.com/1/rev.3.16.kjv Let’s stop holding onto the flesh!

Pondering the Bible: How can a good God allow evil?

""The heart is deceitful above all things, And desperately wicked; Who can know it?" Jeremiah 17:9 NKJV http://bible.com/114/jer.17.9.nkjv Q:  How can a good God allow evil?  This is the question I get from many Christianity skeptics. Well, let’s think all the way back to the beginning. God gave Adam and Eve a choice. To remain in His goodness, and enjoy a peaceful, free life, or go their own way and define good and evil for yourself. We all know what happened. The point I’m trying to make is,  man chose to do evil.  If you decide to deliberately burn yourself by putting your hand in an oven, you can’t blame the cook for that. It’s the same thing!  Man chose to do evil.  Well, why can’t God get rid of evil?  Do you want to remove your existence? Well, God doesn’t. You see, if God removed evil, He would have to remove man in the process, as man is evil. But He found a way to remove evil from us without wiping us out. He sent Jesus to die for u...
