Who I Am In Christ

"Do not work for food that spoils, but for food that endures to eternal life, which the Son of Man will give you. For on him God the Father has placed his seal of approval.” - John 6:27

Some of us want to be rich and honoured by the people on earth. But to achieve this goal, you'll need to act like THEM. But John instructs us to be Christ-like:
"Whoever  says they abide  in him [Jesus] ought to walk in the same way in which He walked."
John means for us to be Christ-like. Whenever we want to take action or decide on something, we need to put Jesus first in the matter. We have to ask Him, because He knows the best for our lives. We must first be humble to accept God's decision.

"God  has no use for conceited people, but shows favour to those who are humble." - Proverbs 3:34. When we talk about 'concieted people' we are talking about people with disobedient pride. Disobedient pride is when you think you can do something without God and do it contrary to His commandments. To be able to accept God's decision, you must first be humble.

God needs us to be Christ-like so that we can show others the way to Jesus. Your actions, thoughts and words should all be about Jesus or related to Him. Always be thinking: What would Jesus do?

"For to this you have been called, because Christ also suffered for you, leaving you an example, so that you might follow in his steps." - 1 Peter 2:21

We must always be thinking about others. How can I help? What can I do to be Christ-like? Being Christ-like also means spending time with God and/or His Word, like Jesus did.

Read the Scriptures with understanding. Memorise them so that you can tell others and lead them to the reference.

Pray and say Confessions. Pray and say who you are in Christ. I suggest, personally, the Rhapsody of Realities by Pastor Chris Oyakhilome. Visit: http://www.rhapsodyofrealities.org/index.php/en/ to learn more. Anyway, we must say who we are in Christ multiple times daily. This gives us protection from the enemy - Satan and also proves we know who we are and the devil can't change our minds

Always do everything with God's Word at the back of your head. In everything you do, ask yourself is it right? Does the Bihle say anything about this? Or, what would Jesus do in this situation?

The Godly Godliness

1 Timothy 4:7 -  7  Have nothing to do with godless myths and old wives’ tales;  rather, train yourself to be godly.  The godliness Paul is talking about here means piety to God, a revered holiness. What do I mean? Well, on what we do we should have a holiness for him. Our clothing, people should be able to say 'this is a real Christian'. Our behaviour should also have a holiness. A fear of God. As the Bible says, the fear of God gives life. This holiness is about the things you do, how you respond to God and to the things of God. Our character influences the way we live and what we do-it's the way people determine who you are, for it is always the inner man the speaks out. They are books and magazines you shouldn't read, things you shouldn't watch and games you shouldn't play. The excuse 'it's Christian' won't work this time! Watch with your children - make sure you are sure of what they watch. Never forget who you are in Christ: His own, o...

STOP HOLDING ONTO FLESH!

“He that hath my commandments, and keepeth them, he it is that loveth me: and he that loveth me shall be loved of my Father, and I will love him, and will manifest myself to him.” John 14:21 KJV http://bible.com/1/jhn.14.21.kjv We can see from this verse that a true follower of Jesus obeys his commands. But why do we find it difficult to follow Jesus? It’s because we are still holding onto flesh. We don’t want to let go, we think we can be both of God and of the flesh. But for you to work with God, the flesh must be dead. The flesh is your mind, emotions and your will. I repeat, God cannot work with you if the flesh is still alive. We cannot still hold on to the flesh. We are still sitting on the fence, not going in or out. Jesus said: “So then because thou art lukewarm, and neither cold nor hot, I will spue thee out of my mouth.” Revelation 3:16 KJV http://bible.com/1/rev.3.16.kjv Let’s stop holding onto the flesh!

Pondering the Bible: How can a good God allow evil?

""The heart is deceitful above all things, And desperately wicked; Who can know it?" Jeremiah 17:9 NKJV http://bible.com/114/jer.17.9.nkjv Q:  How can a good God allow evil?  This is the question I get from many Christianity skeptics. Well, let’s think all the way back to the beginning. God gave Adam and Eve a choice. To remain in His goodness, and enjoy a peaceful, free life, or go their own way and define good and evil for yourself. We all know what happened. The point I’m trying to make is,  man chose to do evil.  If you decide to deliberately burn yourself by putting your hand in an oven, you can’t blame the cook for that. It’s the same thing!  Man chose to do evil.  Well, why can’t God get rid of evil?  Do you want to remove your existence? Well, God doesn’t. You see, if God removed evil, He would have to remove man in the process, as man is evil. But He found a way to remove evil from us without wiping us out. He sent Jesus to die for u...
