Spiritual Not Physical Prt 2

And I myself did not know him, but the one who sent me to baptize with water told me, ‘The man on whom you see the Spirit come down and remain is the one who will baptise with the Holy Spirit." - John 1:33

The Spirit of God came down and remained in Jesus, and He baptises. But He doesn't baptise with water, but with power and the Holy Ghost.
" ‘You heard from me, for John baptized with water, but before many days you shall be baptized with the Holy Spirit.’” (Acts 1:4–5)

Baptism with the Holy Ghost is different from the baptism of water. Being baptised with water doesn't make you a Christian - no, it is believing in Jesus that does. Christian comes from the word, 'Christ' turning the meaning into, follower of Christ. Following Christ is much more than the phrase. It means to carry your cross(Matthew 16:24) and let Him do everything. And, I agree, it is much harder than what it says. It means abandoning yourself, and becoming pure. That's step 1. Step 2 is to follow Jesus without doubt and full of unchangeable faith. Your faith should say: 'With God everything is possible'. Doubts will come where you will face times where you want to 'curse God to His face' (Job 1:11)
Let's look at Job (pronounced 'Jobe'). Everything was taken away from him, by SATAN. God does not take away His blessings, it is Satan. Satan needs permission from you, to be able to activate his plan. He can get that permission through SIN. Job asked God why, out of ignorance. But we can learn something from him, but he soon found out that to challenge the Lord is like trying to catch a cheater by yourself with nothing (not even traps). The devil is out to make his world a more sinful environment and he uses anything. Anything-it-takes is probably his favourite motto. If we don't guard our hearts with God's Word, things get nasty fast.
"For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the powers, against the world forces of this darkness, against the spiritual forces of wickedness in the heavenly places." - Ephesians 6:12 NASB.

Many so-called Christians aim there fight at humans. But they don't find or aim for the source. Let's look at an aeroplane for example. When it breaks down, would you blame the aeroplane or the engine? The engine because that is the source. Everyone has a spirit, and everyone is controlled by Satan or Jesus. We were all born into sin, and if we don't repent we act out of our sin. But if we do, we are now adopted into Jesus Christ.
"God decided in advance to adopt us into his own family by bringing us to himself through Jesus Christ. This is what he wanted to do, and it gave him great pleasure." - Ephesians 1:5

Notice in Ephesians 6:12, Paul said 'And against the spiritual forces of wickedness.." concluding that our battle is spiritual and not physical

STOP HOLDING ONTO FLESH!

“He that hath my commandments, and keepeth them, he it is that loveth me: and he that loveth me shall be loved of my Father, and I will love him, and will manifest myself to him.” John 14:21 KJV http://bible.com/1/jhn.14.21.kjv We can see from this verse that a true follower of Jesus obeys his commands. But why do we find it difficult to follow Jesus? It’s because we are still holding onto flesh. We don’t want to let go, we think we can be both of God and of the flesh. But for you to work with God, the flesh must be dead. The flesh is your mind, emotions and your will. I repeat, God cannot work with you if the flesh is still alive. We cannot still hold on to the flesh. We are still sitting on the fence, not going in or out. Jesus said: “So then because thou art lukewarm, and neither cold nor hot, I will spue thee out of my mouth.” Revelation 3:16 KJV http://bible.com/1/rev.3.16.kjv Let’s stop holding onto the flesh!

Pondering the Bible: How can a good God allow evil?

""The heart is deceitful above all things, And desperately wicked; Who can know it?" Jeremiah 17:9 NKJV http://bible.com/114/jer.17.9.nkjv Q:  How can a good God allow evil?  This is the question I get from many Christianity skeptics. Well, let’s think all the way back to the beginning. God gave Adam and Eve a choice. To remain in His goodness, and enjoy a peaceful, free life, or go their own way and define good and evil for yourself. We all know what happened. The point I’m trying to make is,  man chose to do evil.  If you decide to deliberately burn yourself by putting your hand in an oven, you can’t blame the cook for that. It’s the same thing!  Man chose to do evil.  Well, why can’t God get rid of evil?  Do you want to remove your existence? Well, God doesn’t. You see, if God removed evil, He would have to remove man in the process, as man is evil. But He found a way to remove evil from us without wiping us out. He sent Jesus to die for u...

The Godly Godliness

1 Timothy 4:7 -  7  Have nothing to do with godless myths and old wives’ tales;  rather, train yourself to be godly.  The godliness Paul is talking about here means piety to God, a revered holiness. What do I mean? Well, on what we do we should have a holiness for him. Our clothing, people should be able to say 'this is a real Christian'. Our behaviour should also have a holiness. A fear of God. As the Bible says, the fear of God gives life. This holiness is about the things you do, how you respond to God and to the things of God. Our character influences the way we live and what we do-it's the way people determine who you are, for it is always the inner man the speaks out. They are books and magazines you shouldn't read, things you shouldn't watch and games you shouldn't play. The excuse 'it's Christian' won't work this time! Watch with your children - make sure you are sure of what they watch. Never forget who you are in Christ: His own, o...
